Zeus Timeout Settings
Posted by Vince Eagen (WANdisco) on 22 March 2010 06:35 PM
The Zeus Load Balancer may require tuning of the timeout settings depending on your network landscape.  Typically this is only necessary if large operations are performed from a client with a low bandwidth network connection.  One of the subversion errors the client may experience in this case is:
svn: REPORT of '/dav/!svn/vcc/default': Could not read response body: connection was closed by server (http://server:port)

To change the settings:
  1. Navigate to the zeus administration web interface, typically http://server:9090/
  2. Click services at top
  3. Edit the virtual server for WANdisco
  4. Find the connection management row and click edit
  5. Click the timeout settings
  6. Increase the timeout settings incrementally until the clients are able to checkout.  You may want to initially disable these timeouts by setting them to zero to confirm that this is indeed the problem.  Once this has been identified as the source of the problem we recommend that these are tuned to a reasonable settings and not disabled permanently.
